🇪🇸 Spain & Costa del Sol Travel Safety Update — October 2025

Wildfires, Weather Conditions & Tourist Safety

After one of Europe’s most intense wildfire summers, conditions across Spain have stabilized — and the Costa del Sol remains completely safe for travelers.
Cooler temperatures, higher humidity, and autumn rains have brought significant relief, while authorities continue restoring affected northern regions.

🔥 1. Spain’s Wildfire Season Nears Its End

The European Union experienced its worst wildfire season on record earlier this year, with more than 1 million hectares burned across southern Europe.
Spain was among the most affected nations, particularly Galicia, Castilla y León, and Extremadura, due to extreme heat and prolonged drought.
However, no active wildfires remain near Andalusia, Málaga, or Marbella.

In September, the Spanish government declared several northern regions “disaster zones”, expediting aid and reforestation efforts.
Andalusia’s emergency teams remain on alert, but the southern coast has not been impacted.
